I am back to my crocheting

These are some dishcloths and a scrubby I made for a friend for Christmas.

I bought the template from someone in Ravelry for the wrapper. I think it makes a nice gift. At least I hope so.

I also found the patterns for the dishcloth and the scrubby on Ravelry. I love making them.

My Lasar Yag Surgery

I had the surgery on Wednesday and now my vision is so clear and sharp. Today is the last day of the eye drops and I go for a follow up appt. with my opthamologist next Wednesday.

The whole procedure took about four minutes. I didn't feel a thing.

It's always something........

Update on Kaley,, She is doing great. She is back to normal and eating and drinking and we are back to our daily walks with Merlin.

Something new for me though. I had cataract surgery on both eyes , the left one two years ago and the right one 1 1/2 years ago. I have had blurry vision on the right eye for about six months which was progressivly getting worse over the past months. I went to my opthamologist and this is what she found.

I went to the opthamologist yesterday and she finally found the problem I have with the blurring of my vision in the right eye. It is called POSTERIOR CAPSULE OPACITY. This occurs because lens epithelial cells remaining after cataract surgery have grown on the capsule. In some cases, if the condition progresses significantly, your vision may be worse than it was before cataract surgery. It can be treated with a treatment called YAG. It is a laser treatment. So this will probably happen after my next checkup in a few months. She said this show up in about 5% of patients that have cataract surgery and it usually shows up about a year and a half after the surgery. So of course it had to be me....

To much going on....

My son moved back for a while , then his dog attacked mine and she had surgery on Tuesday. She is doing well, but won't eat or drink very much.

My friends husband was rushed to the hospital with seizures. My daughter will be having surgery on her knee on Thursday. What else can happen? I really don't want to know...

Here are pictures of Kaleys wound.

Tomatoes

I finally decided to take a pictures of my tomatoes, they are growing in a pot on my patio. I have grape tomatoes, patio tomatoes and some Roma's. I have been eating them quicker than they can grow.

HOT, HOT, HOT

It is just way to hot out. It has been over 100 degrees for the last few day, first it was June gloom then over night it all changed, summer came in with a bang and it is very humid. For Southern California, humidity is something we are not used to. Thank goodness for central air conditioning. That is the best thing I have done, to install it in my house.

My dogs want and miss their afternoon walks, but it is way to hot for that. We now wait till after dinner when it does cool down a bit and the sidewalks are not to hot. It must be horrible to have to walk on that hot pavement and be barefooted.

Sadness in our Family

My sister had to have her best friend Tyler put to sleep this morning. He was having a lot of pain and couldn't stand or walk anymore. Tyler was a rescue and had a wonderful life with my sister for the past nine years. He was about thirteen years old. Tyler we will miss you, run fast and pain free at the rainbow bridge. Tyler is the golden Keeshond, Chow Mix. The other dog, the black one is Chronic, she is my son's dog.

Another Earthquake

We had a major earthquake at 9:25 last night in Southern California, it really jerked me out of bed. The first thing I did was get my robe on and then shut the doggie door and then turn on the TV news. It was 5.9 then downgraded to 5.7. It was a little scary but I finally after phone calls to my family back and forth went back to sleep. It was an aftershock from the 7.2 we had on Easter Sunday. My dogs slept through it..

My New Curly Scarf

I just completed knitting this scarf which is called a popcorn scarf, because you just can't have just one.

It started with 90 stitches on the needle and ends with about 720 stitches. I was worried that it wasn't curling but after I started to bind off, the curls became apparant. It will be a Christmas gift for someone. It was fun to make and I am going to make more of them. I also have a different pattern on other needles at this time. It will be a lacy one on size 13 needles.

More about Merlin

He seems better for a fifteen year old. He is able to get on the couch by himself, sometimes needing a little help. He is eating good and still enjoys his very short walks. The vet doesn't want him walking much, but we only go about three houses and then home. It rained today, so we did not go out...

My Merlin

My Whippet Merlin had an event this Monday. He went down spread eagle and started shaking really bad. I thought he may of had a stroke...

Tuesday morning I took him to the vet. Merlin has arthritis in the spine and maybe a slipped disc. The vet gave me some meds for him and if he doesn't improve in the next few days they want to xray the spine. He is having trouble with his hind legs. He cant get up on the couch or chairs and I am lifting him for that. Merlin is a rescue, so I don't know his actual age but he is about 12 years old.. Please say some prayers for him.

He can walk a little but his hind legs are very shaky.. I am so worried....

Easter Day Earthquake

We had a big one on Easter Sunday in the afternoon. I was walking with my friend and our dogs when it hit. I thought I was having a dizzy spell... The sidewalks looked like ocean waves and the parked cars were shaking back and forth and the telephone poles and cables were swaying back and forth. It was scary.

We are still having minor after shocks but they are not bad.

I guess that is part of life here in Southern California. The epicenter was in Mexico and was about 150 miles away. The quake was felt as far as San Francisco and Phoenix Arizona....

A busy Day

I had company yesterday and during our delicious lunch of a Chinese chicken salad made by my Son, the sink clogged up and my son had to open the escape valve on the outside of the house and flush it all out. He did fix it, thank goodness. Then my friend who sold her house came home from out of state and couldn't go home because the inspectors were at her home so she and her husband stayed and visited a while. We had a great visit and her little dog was so happy to see mom and dad after a week at my house. It was a good but busy day. Today I will do laundry...
Wishing all my friends a Happy Easter....

My Grandson

Thank G-d, He is now on US soil. Chris came home from Afghanistan about a week ago and is now stationed in Alaska. He will be getting time off at the end of this month and will be here for a visit. It is the best birthday present I could get. Knowing he is safe and sound and won't have to go back to Afghanistan is the best news in the world.

Another Chemo Cap \

This is another chemo cap for my friend. It is almost finished. I hope she likes it.

I am back

I haven't been here for a while as there were some health problems in my family and blogging was the last thing on my mind. Things are a little better now so here I am......

I am back to my knitting and crocheting and am making the rectangles for HAP.

I am happy to say that my grandson will be coming home from Afghanistan in a few more weeks. Hopefully it will be for good. He will be stationed in Alaska as far as we know right now.

We have been having horrible weather here in not so sunny Southern California. We have had rain, wind, floods, and even a tornado. Can you believe that. Right now we have had two days of sun but the rains are coming back. Well off to the store now....Before the rain starts again.
